Position Title: School Guidance Counselor
Location: East Voyager Academy of Charlotte, 7429 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
Reports To: School Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $42,000–$55,000 depending on experience
*Must be certified or eligible for certification in NC
$2,000 signing bonus

Position Overview

East Voyager Academy of Charlotte is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Guidance Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, teachers, families, and administrators to promote student success and well-being. The counselor will help implement a comprehensive school counseling program that supports students in achieving their academic goals, developing positive relationships, and building skills for lifelong success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small group counseling to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Assist students with goal setting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Support students experiencing academic, behavioral, or personal challenges

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address student needs and interventions

  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student support and progress

  • Help coordinate student support services and referrals when needed

  • Maintain accurate student counseling records and documentation

  • Participate in student support meetings and school-wide initiatives

  • Promote a positive school climate that supports student well-being and success

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field

  • Must hold a current North Carolina School Counselor license OR be eligible and willing to obtain NC licensure

  • Strong understanding of student development and counseling practices

  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

  • Commitment to supporting student success and well-being

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a school counselor

  • Experience supporting middle school students

  • Familiarity with North Carolina student support and counseling guidelines

  • Experience working with student intervention teams or support services

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience and state guidelines. Benefits package available.
