Position Title: Middle School Science Teacher
 Location: East Voyager Academy of Charlotte, 7429 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
 Reports To: School Principal
 Position Type: Full-Time
 Salary: $37,000–$50,000 depending on experience
 *Must be certified or eligible for certification in NC
 $2,000 signing bonus

Position Overview

East Voyager Academy of Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher to inspire students to explore and understand the natural world. The ideal candidate will promote curiosity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving while delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Science. This teacher will create a positive classroom environment that supports hands-on learning, inquiry, and academic growth.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study

  • Teach core science concepts including life science, earth science, and physical science

  • Facilitate hands-on experiments, investigations, and STEM-based learning activities

  • Use data-driven instruction to differentiate learning and support student growth

  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly and maintain accurate records

  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in professional development

  • Support school-wide STEM initiatives, science fairs, and academic enrichment activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education, Science Education, or a related field

  • Must hold a current North Carolina teaching license in Middle Grades Science OR be eligible and willing to obtain NC licensure

  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry-based learning, and instructional best practices

  • Effective classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to professional growth and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience

  • Experience with hands-on laboratory instruction or STEM-based learning

  • Familiarity with North Carolina assessment and accountability standards

  • Experience integrating technology and inquiry-based science instruction

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience and state guidelines. Benefits package available.
