Position Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Location: East Voyager Academy of Charlotte, 7429 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
Reports To: School Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $37,000–$50,000 depending on experience
*Must be certified or eligible for certification in NC
$2,000 signing bonus

Position Overview

East Voyager Academy of Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher to help students develop strong mathematical skills and confidence in problem-solving. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Mathematics while fostering critical thinking, logical reasoning, and a positive attitude toward math. This teacher will create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic growth and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging math instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study

  • Teach core middle school math concepts including numbers and operations, algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, and data analysis

  • Use data-driven instruction to differentiate learning and support student growth

  • Provide opportunities for students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly and maintain accurate records

  • Create a structured and positive classroom environment that supports student achievement

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in professional development

  • Support school-wide STEM and academic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Must hold a current North Carolina teaching license in Middle Grades Mathematics OR be eligible and willing to obtain NC licensure

  • Strong understanding of middle school math concepts and instructional best practices

  • Effective classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to professional growth and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience

  • Experience with standards-based instruction and differentiated learning

  • Familiarity with North Carolina assessment and accountability standards

  • Experience integrating technology or digital tools in math instruction

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience and state guidelines. Benefits package available.
