Position Title: K–8 Dance Teacher
 Location: East Voyager Academy of Charlotte 7429 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
 Reports To: School Principal
 Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

East Voyager Academy of Charlotte is seeking an energetic and creative Dance Teacher to provide high-quality dance instruction for students in grades K–8. The ideal candidate will foster artistic expression, movement skills, creativity, and appreciation for dance while promoting discipline, teamwork, and confidence. Instruction should align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Dance and support a positive school culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging dance instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Dance
  
  

• Teach foundational movement skills, choreography, rhythm, technique, and dance appreciation across multiple grade levels
  
  

• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  
  

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and abilities
  
  

• Choreograph and coordinate school performances, showcases, or special events
  
  

• Maintain dance equipment, music, and instructional materials
  
  

• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families
  
  

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities
  
  

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or higher
  
  

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  
  

• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  
  

• Commitment to professional growth and collaboration
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching dance in an elementary or middle school setting
  
  

• Experience choreographing performances or coordinating school arts programs
  
  

• Knowledge of multiple dance styles (e.g., ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, cultural dance forms)
