We’re looking for a highly qualified candidate with current North Carolina licensure who is eager to support students in achieving their full potential. Our School:

Endeavor Charter School is a K-8 charter school located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Our school’s mission is to engage K-8 students by integrating a challenging, hands-on academic program with multi-faceted fine arts courses in a familial environment.

The Role:

At Endeavor, our Exceptional Children teachers play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of various exceptionalities, effective intervention strategies, and a passion for advocating for students with diverse learning needs. On a day-to-day basis, this may look like:


Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development: Collaborate with teachers, special education coordinators, and parents to develop comprehensive IEPs that outline specific goals, accommodations, and services for each student with exceptionalities.


Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas of need. Utilize various assessment tools and techniques to gather data and monitor students' progress over time.


Intervention Planning and Implementation: Design and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of students with exceptionalities. Develop intervention plans that incorporate specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications as necessary.


Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor students' progress towards IEP goals and objectives. Collect data, analyze results, and make adjustments to intervention plans as needed to ensure students are making meaningful progress.


Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to coordinate services and support for students with exceptionalities. Provide consultation and guidance to classroom teachers on effective instructional strategies and

accommodations.


Parent and Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and caregivers by providing regular updates on students' progress, soliciting feedback, and offering support and resources. Participate in parent meetings, workshops, and community events related to exceptional children's services.


Professional Development: Stay current on best practices, research, and trends in the field of special education and intervention services. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.


Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of students with exceptionalities within the school. Serve as a liaison between families, school personnel, to ensure students receive appropriate support and services.

Additionally, all staff—including our EC teachers—participate in weekly carpool duty as part of our strong school community culture

Qualifications:

Current North Carolina teaching license (required)

Special education teaching experience preferred (especially in elementary or middle grades)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Meticulous with documentation and compliance: able to meet deadlines, maintain legal requirements, and manage paperwork effectively

Skilled in data collection, academic assessments, and collaboration with classroom teachers

Committed to helping students grow—academically, socially, and emotionally

Comfortable using ECATs, Google Classroom, mClass, IXL, or other classroom technology to support learning

Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed
