Designing a Better Math Block

A block structure on paper means nothing until a teacher runs it on a Tuesday in October. Alamance Community School put one 60-minute math block in place across grades 4 to 8 this fall, with high-quality curriculum anchoring the core lesson and practice moved into a protected intervention block.
