Join us for the 3rd annual 4th Fridays for Charter School Boards webinar series—created specifically for charter school board members and charter school leaders. 

Each month, an experienced expert will lead an engaging session focused on a timely, relevant topic designed to strengthen charter school governance and leadership. These webinars provide practical insights, valuable resources, and meaningful opportunities for board members to grow in their roles and better serve their schools.

 We know that charter school board members generously volunteer their time and expertise to support their schools and communities. 4th Fridays is our way of investing in those leaders—equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and perspective they need to lead effective, mission-driven boards. 

Whether you are a new board member or a seasoned leader, each session is designed to add value, build capacity, and strengthen the governance of charter schools.

Governing through Crisis


Strong boards distinguish themselves in challenging moments by bringing clarity, confidence, and disciplined governance when their schools need it most. A crisis can test a charter school board’s judgment, discipline, and understanding of its proper role. In this webinar, board members will explore practical tools for governing effectively before, during, and after a crisis—without stepping into management’s operational responsibilities. Participants will examine how boards can prepare proactively by ensuring critical policies and emergency protocols are current, clarifying decision-making authority, establishing communication expectations, and designating an appropriate spokesperson before a crisis occurs. Through common crisis scenarios, participants will consider the board’s highest-leverage responsibilities: asking the right questions, monitoring management’s response, protecting students and public trust, supporting organizational stability, and documenting appropriate board action. Attendees will leave with practical recommendations for strengthening their board’s crisis readiness and responding with clarity, consistency, and sound governance when challenges arise.
