Amanda Stephens, CPFA®
Amanda Stephens is a Director of Institutional Retirement Plan Consulting at a Marsh & McLennan Agency where she serves as the Practice Leader for Non-Profit & Education Retirement Benefits. She is a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, specializing in the areas of retirement plan consulting & investment advisory services for retirement plans, with a focus in supporting the needs of non-profit, higher education, and K-12 organizations. In 2024, Amanda was awarded the Top Women of Excellence by the National Association of Plan Advisors.
Amanda started her career at a national brokerage firm, and then began her focus exclusively in retirement plans when she joined CAPTRUST in 2007. During Amanda's time at CAPTRUST, she led the vendor due diligence team, acquiring extensive knowledge on recordkeepers services and capabilities, and negotiated plan fees through fee benchmarking and RFP's on behalf of Plan Sponsors. She was a frequent speaker at industry conferences on fiduciary governance for plan service providers. Amanda then spent 13 years at TIAA, dedicating her career to working with non-profit education organizations to help design their retirement benefits. She helped her clients obtain numerous Pension & Investments Eddy awards* for their accomplishments in delivering improved financial wellness outcomes for their employees.
Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a minor in Mathematics, and a concentration in Finance. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys traveling with her partner, Eric, and their four children.
